FRESH OFF THE MARKET
Mood: Chill
MSN Name: On the other hand.... you have different fingers
So, Monday nights are once again go-out-and-get-trashed nights, as we now have a tradition to do after QM exec meetings. Gert's decided that due to our loyal weekly patronage that they would buy the entirety of this year's exec kamakazi shooters. That was wonderful of them. It's to the point now where the bartender actually said this week "wow, you guys got really trashed last week!" When the bartender knows ya that well, I think we live up to our name ("team lush"). Oh yeah, who comprises team lush? Me, Michelle, Markella, & Joanne. Why? Because for at least all of this semester, 3/4 of us were generally at any given night of QM drinking, and not only stayed until the end, but generally take the party elsewhere after we get kicked out of Gert's. Hence, team lush. Side note: Floh.com is well on her way to becoming a part of it.
We went to Mango Bay for the exec dinner, it was really really good food, and basically unlimited sangria. It wasn't, but whenever I finished a glass there was a pitcher of it in front of me filling it up again, so it was. We also got Secretary's Choice awards, because the QM secretary decided that SSMU awards were meaningless and biased, so the exec made up our own nominations and she did all of the choosing and prize selection. What did I win, you may ask? Well, even *I* won't post the prize itself online (ask me if you wanna know) but what it was FOR was the "ass kicking award". I also got nominated as "most sarcastically funny," "most huggable," and "the best person to seek on your quest for anal knowledge." This makes me sound intensely fascinating, doesn't it? :D
I posted a few more photos from Monday night (under "QM elections").

AGORA TONIGHT
Mood: Excited
MSN Name: Study, exec dinner, Agora. Come to Agora. I want to see you there
I'm going to Agora tonight. Be there.
I haven't much to report on in life. Went to Noelle's last night, they were trying to make her funnel beer. Such a bad idea is the funnel. Exec dinner tonight, I get to eat Caribbean food. MMMMMMMMM. I'll tell you all about it. At Agora. Where you're going to be.

PICS
Mood: Chill
MSN Name: 3/4 ain't bad
Pics from last night's awards.
THREE OUTTA FOUR AIN'T BAD
Mood: Psyched
MSN Name: 75%, and oops, I said "gay guy"
So, SSMU awards last night. We were nominated for Event of the Year (March of Hearts), Service of the Year (Queer McGill), Volunteer of the Year (Floh.com, and Campus Life Fund (Vagina Monologues. We won for everything but March of Hearts, so congrats to QM for these fabulous achievements!
And now to bitch. The emcees were terrible. They had a list of "words not to say" which included fat, ugly, and a couple other similar things, and "gay guy." Props to Michelle who later said "oops I said gay guy" while accepting our award. Also, they decided to call it the "special olympics of awards," as well as making Nagasaki jokes, and saying that the "mousy girl would get more play because it's open bar." OMG. WTF!? They varied between horribly offensive and just plain not funny. They also said "it wasn't me kissing your sister on Crescent Street..." so Jen decided to say that it *was* her kissing your sister on Crescent Street. I enjoyed that.
The best part of the night (aside from the obvious - winning and open bar, hello!) was that when we got Service of the Year, our whole table jumped up and screamed, and then all walked up to get the award, but we got a friggin huge standing ovation. By friggin huge I mean like 4 tables, but it was still big compared to what anyone else got and compared to how many people were there.
Also, I gotta give a shout out to the engineers, who were with us in solidarity, largely because we both hated the emcees, but they were totally cheering for us when we won and vice versa.
So yay! GO US. Come by the office and check out our award(s)!

OH OLD DUBLIN
Mood: Tired
MSN Name: Service of the Year
So, Monday nights are bad for me. I keep getting drunk and having random random make-out sessions. The funny news is I made out with a boy for the first time in about 6 years, the bad news is Rob didn't also make out with me. It's all captured on digicam that most people will never, ever see. But yeah, moral of this story is that exec meetings end up at Gerts. Then they kick us out, and we go elsewhere. We get too fucked and end up having crazy nights o' debauchery.
SSMU awards tomorrow night. I need an outfit. Maybe I'll reuse the HomoHop one since I think my standard wardrobe is going to be unavailable to me because I haven't seen Pasha in 18 years. :( I miss you sweetie!

FOOD AND SALE
Mood: Psyched
MSN Name: I'm bored
I forgot the best part of my weekend. I had a ridiculously good meal made for me. A yummy salad with homemade dressing, asparagus & snow peas with a cream sauce on top, a shrimp & lamb dish with fruit & nuts, and tortellini with pesto. Can I observe that I don't cook any of those things on my own, let alone all of them at once? MMMM it was so good. I think I'll become a tree-planter.
Also, I hear that Come as you are is having a sale. This might be the most exciting thing I've ever heard.
FLOHAWK
Mood: Chill
MSN Name: Seeing and using are different
Floh.com just got the best haircut ever. It excites me. What a hottie.
I never do anything remotely productive. This is mildly disturbing. I've also realized that the decrease in blogging is partially due to the fact that I don't generally consider myself to have anything incredibly mindblowing to share, and I hate blogs that simply talk about what the person did during the day. BO-RING!
That having been said, I went to karaoke last night and had sooooo friggin much fun. Mitch is a bit of an orgasm. He's a lot to take, but he's such an amazing kid.
The best story I've heard in a really long time was when Alex said at the meeting on Monday that he was practicing pronoun use with people at the Homo Hop. It amused and excited me so drastically it's not even funny. YAY pronoun-carers! Imp isn't working as well as it could, but I still agree that a gender-neutral pronoun that doesn't sound so awkward would be really really useful, and it should be default.

PIC CORRECTION & GENDER NEUTRAL PRONOUNS
Mood: Studious. Kinda.
MSN Name: Raging IMP
Thanks to Floh.com, I've corrected the name of the "OAP" pics to "Ca Marche" and added a few more from the actual march.
Also, we've decided that imp would make a great gender-neutral pronoun. As in "Carol went to the store, but imp fell on imps way." I like it. And using it as default makes those who choose to identify with a gendered pronoun out themselves instead of the other way around. :D

LET'S HAVE A ROUSING GAME...
Mood: Recovering
MSN Name: Monkey no glad to see you, this just banana!
It's called who still wants to talk to me after the post-Homo Hop drunken mess that was me on Saturday night? The short version of the story, for those who don't know, is that Carol saw lots of booze, and decided drinking large amounts of vodka after she was already fairly drunk was a *good* idea. She was wrong. I'm not actually sure what happened after I did that. Yay blackouts. So, if I did anything horribly stupid, I apologize. Profusely. Though the good news of this night is that I looked hot thanks to Pasha.
Good news: New QM website is up, cute pic of all of us too! Also, today's Men in Hats is too funny. I love these friggin comics. Where's the new Filthy Lies update? Argh.
I've realized that my lack of caring about school is *probably* a bad thing. Yikes. Must do work, must do work, must stop making drunken fool of self, must do work....

I AM A LAZY ASS
Mood: Tired, unmotivated, and the deadline's passed
MSN Name: fleak
I have a take-home due, the one that was due Wednesday. It'll be done tomorrow. Craptacular. It has to be done by 4, so no matter how much I procrastinate, it's not gonna help. Well, 3:30 really, because it has to be IN by 4. GRR.
BUT, never fear. Queers & Steers tomorrow night, better known as drunken line dancing, followed by Saturday HomoHop! I'll be dressed up in some manner.. :D
Also, Markella is evil.

ADVENTURES IN BEING A WOMAN
Mood: Unmotivated but a deadline drawing closer
MSN Name: Fish knocking body stoot
So, went to Gert's after the QM exec meeting last night (where, btw, we watched a 25 minute clip of the march, it was wonderful!). It was a good time, talking about Lara Fabian, chillin with some friends, and this guy that I ran into last time we were at Gerts for too long on a Monday was there too (Bruce). This time, he was far less fun. He came over to me and my friends and basically approached me from the side and behind for a kiss. Thank God the boys we were with were wonderful, and played the part of boyfriend. I'm not saying this is a Queer thing, or a woman thing, but it's soooo irritating and violating. He was hovering for a while and then we got the bartender and a couple others to team up and eventually get him out of there. (He continued to stare at us even after we made him go sit back down. EWW.) Have I mentioned I hate how these things work?

Mood: Unmotivated
MSN Name: UMM.. I Baby-Got-Backed in front of Lara Fabian. WTF, mate?
I need to work. Big time. Here are more march pictures. I'm a little head in some of them. Today's Men in Hats is really funny. I'm still afterglowy from the March. YAY! Also, Jake's blog is now linked.

THE MARCH HAS BEEN MARCHED!
Mood: Superhappy
MSN Name: Gotta work
So, the March of Hearts that I've been babbling about all year finally happened yesterday. Some pictures are linked on the right as well. It was amazing, a turnout of probably around 500. It was a crazily amazing day, and Joanne, Mark and Paul (among countless others) kick ass for organizing this thing from a brief mention at an exec meeting in September to the massive demonstration we had yesterday. Then I went to karaoke and sang a couple rap standards, as per usual. Then I read Mitch's blog and he says that Lara Fabian was there. Which is quite possible. And would explain a lot. LARA. FRICKIN. FABIAN. heard me sing Baby got Back. And Bust a Move. AND BABY GOT BACK! Oh my, that's too much. If it's true. Though I think it is.
